The case against Katiso “KT” Molefe and his co-accused has been postponed to 12 March 2026, for pre-trail procedings.
Molefe, Michael Pule Tau, Tiego Floyd Mabusela and Musa Kekana made their first appearance in the Johannesburg High Court on Thursday, in connection with the 2022 shooting that claimed the lives of the popular club owner, DJ Sumbody, and his two bodyguards.
The case was transferred from the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court in December to the High court following the consolidation of multiple dockets, citing the seriousness of the alleged offences.
The four accused face 35 charges, including murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

The charges relate to a series of violent crimes across Gauteng, including the 20 November 2022 shooting in Woodmead that killed music producer Oupa Sefoka (DJ Sumbody) and his two bodyguards.
In court, legal representatives agreed that the indictment would be fully disclosed during a closed session on Friday, with the defence indicating it is not yet ready to proceed to trial.
Judge Thifhelimbilu Mudau postponed the matter to 12 March 2026.
During earlier proceedings, prosecutors revealed that ballistic evidence and cellphone data allegedly link the accused to several high-profile killings, including those of DJ Vintos (Hector Buthelezi), Don Tindleni and engineer Armand Swart — all forming part of the consolidated indictment.
The 61-year-old businessman and his co-accused are expected to return to the Johannesburg High Court next month, when the State is set to formally present the full indictment.
