Mofokeng among top PSL Awards nominees

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has unveiled the nominees for its annual awards, with former Orlando Pirates star Relebohile Mofokeng among the most nominated players after earning four nominations.

Mofokeng who recently completed a move to Belgian side Royal Union St Gilloise, has been nominated for Footballer of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season, Midfielder of the Season and Betway Premiership Young Player of the Season.

The 21-year-old was instrumental in Pirates’ title-winning campaign, scoring 10 goals and providing eight assists in 27 league appearances as the Buccaneers ended a 14-year wait for a Premiership title.

Mofokeng’s former teammate, Oswin Appollis, also features prominently, earning nominations for Footballer of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season, and Midfielder of the Season.

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Teboho Mokoena, joins Appollis and Mofokeng in the race for Footballer of the Season and Midfielder of the Season, while Kamogelo Sebelebele completes the shortlist for Players’ Player of the Season.
