Social media has been in a frenzy following the South African Music Awards (Samas), where kwaito star, Arthur Mofokate performed.
The fire was sparked by one user who accused some South Africans of showing double standards, celebrating alleged woman abuser, Mafokate’s performance while at the same time supporting the call for the cancellation of US singer, Chris Brown’s December tour to the country due to his violent past.
Hawu the double standards, not y’all dancing and singing with Arthur Mofokate who allegedly beat up Cici to the point that she had to learn how to walk again yet y’all want to cancel Chris Brown. https://t.co/FRaYVPvl5K

It’s very sad that at a venue full of people, the action/protest is expected from Women for Change. During the performance, people actually stood, danced and enjoyed themselves. Arthur did not only harm Cici, but there is a history of abuse allegations AND an ongoing fraud case! https://t.co/manX03oQGp

I hear the Cici thing and women for change. Why are YOU still liking and retweeting Arthur Mafokate when he posts anything ? Why is he still getting compliments on socials.
Guy has stolen from Lotto thus has stolen from all of us #Sama30 is appalling for giving him the stage— 1Ntando (@1NtandoZAR) November 4, 2024
Lol they blocked me a long time ago, but it’s shocking that they have a stage for Arthur Mafokathe, meanwhile they were advocating for “NO STAGE” for Chris Brown in South Africa. They’re attention whores at this point, their organization is fake as it comes.

The self-proclaimed ‘King of Kwaito’ was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Busisiwe “Cici” Thwala in 2017, which landed her in hospital with serious injuries.
He was, however, acquitted of the charge in 2019 after he claimed that Cici was the one who had actually assaulted him in a fit of rage.
Some, nonetheless, believe the Kwaito legend is being dragged unnecessarily.
Exactly,i actually attended that case in Midrand, what many people say about Arthur is not what Cici said in court under oath, if they care they can easily google that case, they will understand they are so off the mark

The issue of Arthur Mafokate and Cici thina we know it very well.
Cici injured herself by grabbing the car when the lad was driving off.

She held on to a moving car, while Arthur was driving away from her. Running away from her. She didn’t want him to leave. That’s how she got dragged. After the court ruling in Arthur’s favour she said she will pursue a civil case. But i blame her lawyer.

Cici on the other hand, however, seems to have healed and moved on from the situation.
She revealed her sentiments on this in a recet interview with MacG on his “Podcast and Chill”.
Cici: “I’m over it, MacG — ask me something else…” 🥹🥹
She claimed that she suffered sexual & emotional abuse at Arthur’s hands, when asked about it on #PodcastAndChill — she avoided the questions.#Uyajola99 Zuma Minnie Arsenal Vuyokazi Sundowns #SAMA30 Casado #PowerUp Zwai pic.twitter.com/fWdkBS10pI
