Some fans of reality show Love Island USA have rallied behind Season 7 star, Olandria Carthen, following an incident involving co-star Huda Mustafa and her boyfriend Louis Russell.

During a livestream hosted by Russell, a racial slur was used in reference to Carthen, with both Mustafa and Russell seen briefly laughing it off.

The moment quickly drew widespread backlash online, with viewers condemning their reaction as insensitive and dismissive.

Carthen responded by condemning racism and calling for greater accountability and awareness.

She further added, “I’m standing firm in who I am and using this as an opportunity to call for real accountability and awareness.”

Mustafa later acknowledged that her reaction was inappropriate, explaining that her laughter came from being caught off guard rather than finding the situation humorous.

She added that she does not condone racism and expressed regret over how the incident unfolded.

“I want to begin by saying I completely respect Olandria, and it’s extremely disheartening that anyone, especially a presumed child, would find it excusable to use this type of language,” Mustafa said.

Responses on social media have been mixed; some users criticized Mustafa for the incident, calling it embarrassing, while others praised her for taking responsibility and acknowledging her mistake.
