Social media is abuzz after South African soul and house duo, Liquideep, announced their comeback, ending an 11-year split.

Producer Ziyon and DJ Ryzor, best known for their chart-topping hits including “BBM” and “Fairytale” amongst others, parted ways in 2014 to pursue solo careers.

The pair teased their reunion on social media with playful puns, signaling their return to the music scene.

Reactions to the duo’s return have been mixed, with some fans celebrating the announcement while others feel it may have come too late.

Liquideep rose to prominence in 2010 when their hit Fairytale won Song of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards.

They went on to shine at the Channel O Music Video Awards in 2010 and 2011, earning accolades for Best Dance Video (Fairytale), Most Gifted Duo (Born For This), and Most Gifted Southern African Video (Settle For Less).
