Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach, Cedric Kaze, says the squad is in high spirits ahead of their first home league fixture of the season against Polokwane City on Wednesday night.

Amakhosi are particularly upbeat after they got their season off to a perfect start after defeating Stellenbosch 2-0 in Cape Town on Sunday.

New signings Ethan Chislett and Paseka Mako are available for selection, following clearance to register as a local player and recovery from injury respectively, while Bafana Bafana winger Pule Mmodi returns after serving his suspension.

“The good thing is we didn’t have any injuries from the last game and there’s also no suspensions. We have a few players back [after missing the last game due to] various reasons,” said Kaze.

Kaze is leading the team with assistant coach, Khalil Ben Youssef, in the absence of head coach Nasreddine Nabi who had to rush to his homeland of Tunisia on Friday after his wife was involved in an accident.
