French President, Emmanuel Macron, has denied any domestic dispute with his wife, Brigitte, after a video has gone viral, showing her shoving his face away as they arrived in Vietnam for a diplomatic visit.

In the video, Brigitte is obscured from view inside a plane – with only her hands visible as she pushes Macron with both hands on his face.

The French President initially appears startled, but quickly regains his composure and waves to the press outside.

The couple is then seen disembarking the plane, where Macron offers his arm to his wife who opts to hold onto the railing instead.

Speaking to reporters in Hanoi, Macron addressed the controversy – claiming they were joking around as they often do.

He says this is not the first time videos of him are taken out of context.

“From Kyiv to Tirana, to Hanoi, there are people who have watched these videos and think that I shared a bag of cocaine, that I had a one-on-one with the Turkish President and that right now that I am having a fight with my wife,” Macron said.

He, however, acknowledged that the footage is genuine.

“The videos are all real, and yes, sometimes people tamper with them. A video can made to say a lot of nonsense,” added the French President.

Social media users are having a field day, with some expressing concern about Macron’s wellbeing.
