Content creator and actress, Bianca Coster, has opened up about the emotional and financial toll caused by the continued use of her images by hoax account, Chris Excel.

The troll account on X is once again facing public backlash for using Coster’s photo without her consent, a move widely condemned as invasive and harmful.

This is not the first time the account has sparked outrage.

Calls have now intensified for the account to be suspended after Coster took to Instagram, revealing that the impersonation has cost her brand partnerships and credibility in both the corporate and influencer spaces.

“When I say I’ve taken a hit financially, I mean it, when I say I have to constantly explain myself, be it corporate, influencing, I constantly have to explain myself because of this Chris Excel thing.”
“I just moved to Cape Town and it’s the same thing as Joburg, I’ll be grocery shopping and I’ll see the stares.”
Tech consultant and former DA Member of Parliament, Phumzile Van Damme, is among those who have come out guns blazing against Chris Chris Excel, describing Coster’s experience as a case of technology-facilitated gender-based violence (GBV) and targeted abuse.
She says there are serious legal ramifications for such behaviour.
“The law protects against this kind of conduct. A line must be drawn in the sand. I hope a social media lawyer takes up her case to set a strong precedent.”

Chris has since changed his profile, seemingly, into an amalgamated picture of Bianca and Phumzile.
