Political commentator, Goodenough Mashego, says Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema, is fueling the fire in the tensions between South Africa and the United States.
His remarks come after Malema raised the ire of some for singing the anti-apartheid “Kill the Boer” during a Human Rights Day Commemoration in Sharpeville.
The continued use of the hateful “Kill the Boer” chant, which calls for the murder of both Afrikaners and farmers, does not go unnoticed by powerful people internationally. They also note that @PresidencyZA Ramaphosa, ANC leaders, and the South African government give the chant… pic.twitter.com/BS690e0ODX

Speaking to YNews, Mashego says Malema is feeding into the false narrative that is being spread by Afrikaneer lobby groups, AfriForum and Solidarity.
Mashego has also slammed AfriForum and Solidarity Movement for spreading misinformation about the country, saying they are just playing the victim card.
He has hailed the government over the way it is handling the situation, saying it is balanced and calculated as any hit back could just create more animosity.
Malema’s actions have also caught the attention of US President, Donald Trump, billionaire, Elon Musk, and US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio.
They have criticised the singing of the song, with Musk alleging that the red berets are promoting white genocide.
AfriForum’s Kallie Kriel used this opportunity to thank Trump for speaking out against Malema.
Thank you, President @realDonaldTrump for taking note of the irresponsible calls for violence against Afrikaners/whites—through hate chants such as “Kill the Boer, kill the farmer”—in South Africa. The tragic irony is that the latest incident occurred on March 21, which is… https://t.co/SLWnazcbph

Rubio also added his opinion on the matter, urging Pretoria to protect the Afrikaner community against any possible violence that could result from the chant.
“Kill the Boer” is a chant that incites violence. South Africa’s leaders and politicians must take action to protect Afrikaner and other disfavored minorities. The United States is proud to offer those individuals who qualify for admission to our nation amid this continued…

While some have acknowledged AfriForum and its allies unease over the song – others believe it’s disingenous of the Afrikaner lobby groups the high court in Johannesburg in 2022 ruled that it does not constitute hate speech nor an incitement of violence in its political and historical context.
The Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) upheld that ruling in May last year, again dismissing AfriForum’s claims.
Mashego says while Malema and AfriForum’s mudslinging over the song could possibly create more tensions, he isn’t worried about the fallout escalating any further that just making some groups uncomfortable as South Africa is more about unity in diversity.
@PieterDuToit’s a fake journalist—pure ANC puppet! He claims AfriForum’s chasing Trump’s pat, but skips @Julius_S_Malema “Kill the Boer” stirring trouble. He paints Solidarity as fossils, ignoring their wins while ANC flops. Everyone sees it—X brands him Ramaphosa’s lapdog,…

What’s there to mix up? The songs say kill the Boer and shoot to kill. Can’t misinterpret those words. Let’s see the mental gymnastics otherwise.

You’re black pilling while a sitting U.S. Secretary of State openly mentions and condemns “Kill The Boer”?
Did any of us expect to see this kind of X post 10 years ago? Or hell even 5 years ago?
Don’t despair! There’s more fighting to be done, but this isn’t the end. https://t.co/5ZUxmGEF8L

Sorry sir, it seems you are not well told. Kill the Boer slogan doesn’t mean kill Whites in particular but the system that promoted Whites only over other races. Hope you also support the idea. Thats how it was birthed. Whenever you hear it, just know there’s an injustice
