A trial date has been set for traditional healer and reality TV star, Makgotso Mofokeng, popularly known as Gogo Maweni for 5 May 2025.

Mofokeng appeared before the Protea Magistrate’s Court for alleged assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The 38-year-old is alleged to have hit the cousin of her third child’s father, and struck her lip with a bottle.

The father of the child is former Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns player, Siyabonga Zulu, who passed away last month after being involved in a motor vehicle accident.

Some South Africans alleged that Maweni could have possibly had a hand in his demise. She previously admitted to bewitching him during an interview on McG’s podcast, insinuating he took advantage of her after she helped him climb up the soccer circles.

Maweni, who is pregnant, is currently out on R5000 bail.

The renowned traditional healer has also set tongues wagging after an audio clip of her threatening to bewitch her husband’s alleged side chick went viral on social media.

In the post, Maweni can be heard telling her husband to set the record straight and tell the alleged side chick that they cannot be together.
