The Gauteng Health Department is encouraging couples to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a fresh perspective one that embraces health-conscious living and physical well-being.
This year, they urge lovebirds to add heart-pumping adventures to candlelit dinners.
While many couples traditionally mark the day only with bouquets and chocolates, the department suggests a different approach, exercising as a duo.
It says this doesn’t only foster accountability, but it also transforms workouts into an enjoyable, shared experience.
Health spokesperson, Motalatale Modiba, says lifestyle diseases are putting increasing pressure on the province’s healthcare system.
“In Gauteng, physical inactivity is a major contributor to non-communicable diseases (NCDs), which rank among the leading causes of illness and premature death. In the past financial year alone, Tembisa Tertiary Hospital treated over 1,250 new stroke patients, a clear indication of how lifestyle-related conditions are weighing heavily on our healthcare system.”
Meanwhile, while some are waiting in anticipation for deliveries of their Valentine’s goodies, others are cruising in style.
Media personality, Minnie Dlamini, has undoubtedly won this year’s flex, showing off her brand-new Blue Porsche.
The stunning reveal sent social media into a frenzy, with fans and followers not only talking about her new ride but also her new relationship.
