A Florida woman, who locked her boyfriend in a suitcase and left him to die, says she fell in love with a monster, and she forgives herself for that.
Sarah Boone (47) was sentenced to life in prison yesterday for zipping her then partner, Jorge Torres (42), in a suitcase in which he suffocated to death.
Torres was found dead in February in the couple’s Winter Park apartment.
Boone claimed he ended up in the suitcase while they were playing a drunken game of hide-and-seek.
To make matters worse, Boone captured parts of the chilling incident in two videos she recorded on her phone that night, which have been shared widely.
In October, the court found Boone found guilty of second-degree murder.
It is understood that Torres had managed to get his hand out of the suitcase, but Boone hit him with a baseball bat until he put it back. She testified that she was scared he would get out.
According to reports, after making the recordings, she then went upstairs to sleep.
She says when she woke up, she found Torres unresponsive in the suitcase and called 911.
During her trial, Boone demonstrated to the jury how she had zipped her boyfriend up in the bag.
She rejected a plea offer from prosecutors, in which she would’ve received a 15-year prison sentence and for her to get a manslaughter charge instead.
Giving her last statement at the sentencing hearing yesterday, Boone claimed that Torres had kicked, punched, spit on, raped, stabbed and choked her, among other forms of abuse.
#SarahBoone Update
Without batting an eye Sarah Boone was sentenced to Life in Prison for the murder of Jorge Torres.
Just remember that this was social media’s fault…but it’s okay, she forgives us. #SarahBoone #JusticeForJorgeTorres #MyStabWound pic.twitter.com/GIvSejiwbY— Defense Diaries (@defense_diaries) December 2, 2024
Also speaking at the sentencing, the victim’s mother, who was emotional, said she doesn’t hate Boone, but is heartbroken that she took away a father, a brother, an uncle.
His sister, Ana Victoria Torres, says Boone deserves to rot in jail for the lifetime of pain she has inflicted on her family.
Social media users have described this case as bizarre.
They believe that Boone deserves to spend the rest of her life behind bars.
Not once did Sarah Boone owned up to what she did. Everything is always someone else’s fault. She still blames Jorge, the bf she murdered, in front of his grieving mother.
She is a scumbag who deserves the life sentence. Her case should be a lesson on what not to do in court. https://t.co/jyISScnjS1

Love Julie’s take on this!
I watched both sentencing today. Both drunk. One killed. One accidental death. One repented ( Jamie Lee Komoroski)
One did not (Sarah Boone)
Remarkable!
Both were fair sentences! In my humble opinion!— patjac (@patjac277175) December 3, 2024
Sarah Boone should have taken that plea deal. Her arrogance got her Life though! 🤷🏽♀️

@lawyerschiff, I really think Sarah Boone talked herself into a life sentence today. When I heard her sentence today, I thought it was a mistake, but I’m watching her screed to the judge & I am shocked. Even I knew not to do that at my sentencing all those years ago. 🙄🙄🙄

Sarah Boone went out with verbal diarrhea, a delusional bad take and a dagger into the hearts of her victims family. Life in prison is too good for her. #mrchippy
