Conspiracy theories, sympathy abound following TD Jakes health scare

Social media has been abuzz with concern and rumours after Texas megachurch pastor, TD Jakes, almost collapsed on stage.

The disgraced founding pastor of the Potter’s House Church had just finished preaching when he lowered his mic and looked like he was about to fall off the chair.

A crowd of people quickly rushed over and surrounded him on stage.

The 67-year-old pastor and author is said to be in a stable condition in hospital.

His daughter, Sarah Jakes Roberts, and her husband, Toure Roberts, who have been leading the church since Jakes handed over leadership responsibilities to his daughter have taken to Instagram, thanking people for their messages of support and prayers.

Jakes’ sermons have inspired millions of people around the world. He fell from grace last year after claims emerged that he was living a double life.

He was accused of being a participant at rap mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ sex parties and sexual misconduct.

Earlier this year, Jakes made headlines when he was mentioned in a lawsuit associating him with Combs, who faces various charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Some social media users are now claiming that Jakes will use his health condition to try and get out of facing any legal issues.
