The combination of a funny and witty Deadpool with a serious Wolverine can seem like a weird pairing. However, after watching the movie – I can say it works.

Marvel movies in keeping the franchise alive, have now moved to bring back the ‘older’ characters, maybe with plans to even have those ‘superheroes’ be the new talk of the town.

Known for hit movies like Black Panther, Captain America and Avengers: Endgame to name a few, Marvel movies deliver the ultimate, iconic, cinematic team-up throw down and debut in cinemas.

The third instalment of the franchise, which releases in theatres on Thursday, stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, who are returning as the iconic X-Men mutant.

YNews was treated to a pre-screening on Wednesday, by CineCentre to check out the R-rated movie, and it was a worthy treat.

Deadpool, who just wants to ‘matter’ and be a hero, is thrust into a deep situation when, the Time Variance Authority (TVA), which is in charge of the multi-verse, threatens to destroy the Earth’s timeline.

The TVA, a group initially introduced by Loki, is entrusted to balance the multiverse times lines, finds itself out of control. Deadpool then recruits an ageing Wolverine for an important mission to save his home.

The third film initially sees Deadpool, who lives with managed cancer through regenerative powers fused in him by the Weapon X project, attempting to live a normal life as Wade Wilson.

He gets a job, has hair (well it’s actually a wig he stapled on his head) and is just trying to make it by the day.

The TVA’s Mr. Paradox tries to recruit Deadpool to help safeguard the central “sacred” timeline of reality by sacrificing his world.

Deadpool then recruits Wolverine into his timeline in a bid to save the day.

We are then introduced to X-men’s leader, Mr. X’s younger evil sister, Cassandra Nova, who has terrifying powers including the reading of one’s mind using her fingers (trust me it can be disturbing).

Thrust into the Void, a place where all the ‘rejects’ are thrown, Cassandra is a brutal leader, who is just the opposite of Mr. X.

In their quest to make it back to Earth, to complete the mission, they meet other ‘older’ characters including The Gambit (played by Channing Tatum), Blade (Wesley Snipes) and Elektra (Jennifer Garner) (which was a surprise to many of us).

Fast forward to the pivotal moment, Deadpool and Wolverine, save the world from Cassandra’s evil scheme’s by destroying the Time Ripper, a machine which can wipe a timeline from existence immediately.

YNews also got an opportunity to speak to Award winning comedian, David Kau, who was also at the pre-screening.

He found the movie refreshing.

The film’s final trailer, which was released six days ago, has been viewed 5.4 million times.

The movie will even feature at the Belgian Grand Prix weekend, with Alpine having revealed a striking one-off livery, inspired by the upcoming film.

Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon will be driving red and black cars, complete with yellow claw marks.

Actors Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have been awarded Guinness World Records titles in celebration of the movie having the most viewed movie trailer in 24 hours.

Having premiered at the Super Bowl earlier this year, the first trailer racked up 365 million global views across all platforms.

As a Marvel fan, I enjoyed that movie and can’t wait to see what else the film company has in store.

If I could rate it, I would give it a 9/10 for how well thought it was put together. The funny elements have an emotional sense to it too and many more.

The movie has also received a resounding applause on social media.
