Tyla recently released a music video, for her new hit Jump, featuring US rapper, Gunna, and Jamaican, Deejay Skillibeng.
The video was shot in Johannesburg and shows the culture of the city and its vibe.
Jump is charting internationally and is now nearing 70 million listens on Spotify. It is the third most listened-to song on her album, after Water and Truth or Dare.

Beyonce used South Africa’s pantsula dance in Run the World. It’s great that art can be shared in that way, but it just hits differrently when you see it in a South African international artist’s video (Tyla – Jump) in a South African context. There’s a history behind that dance+

The breakout star is also captured on video during an interview in the UK, vouching for the South African cuisine.
The Water hitmaker, who received four BET nominations to tie with global icon Beyonce, says even though the UK is similar to what she knows from back home, the food needs a bit of spice.
Advocating for a touch of home in meals wasn’t a first for the singer and songwriter. She once whipped out a bag of maize meal from her handbag during an interview with British Vogue.
She revealed that her bag is packed with essentials, from her passport and Tabasco sauce to lip balm and maize meal.
