Songstress and actress, Kelly Rowland, says she had to stand her ground during an argument with a security guard at the Cannes Film Festival in France this week.

A video of Rowland’s interaction with the guard has been making the rounds on social media.

In it, the actress can be seen being disturbed several times as she tries to make her way through the Red Carpet.

While it remains unclear what straw broke the camel’s back during the interaction, Rowland says she has boundaries, and she stands by them.

She also insinuates that she might have been treated the way she was because of her skin colour.

“There were other women that attended that carpet who did not quite look like me and they didn’t get scolded or pushed off or told to get off, and I stood my ground.”

Award-winning founder and publisher of Glitter Magazine, Nikki Fowler, came out guns blazing drawing a contrast to how some people were welcomed on the red carpet compared to Rowland.

In a long post on X, Fowler bemoaned the prejudice the songstress experienced at the prestigious event.

Fowler, who has been visiting France for the past 30 years, says she’s also had to put some ignorant security personnel in their place at certain places.

“I know that Claire Huxtable finger Kelly has up is pointing out someone who wasn’t raised correctly and is acting a fool.”
