Riri gives Tyler ICU’s ‘Mnike’ the thumbs up

Multi-award-winning artist, Rihanna, has named her two favourite songs for the year 2023, which include South Africans.

During a red carpet interview at her Fenty x Puma launch party in Los Angeles, the business mogul was asked about her favourite album for 2023.

The mother of two, however, explained that she was more of a streaming singles person.

She said he favourite songs are ‘Unavailable’ by Davido, featuring South Africa’s Musa Keys, and Tyler’s ‘Mnike’.

The amapiano smash hit got Tyler ICU nominated for the 2023 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs).

‘Mnike‘ also bagged the top spot for the Most Streamed South African song in Mzansi, according to Spotify’s 2023 wrapped.

Tyler ICU and Musa Keys join a string of South African artists, including DJ Black Coffee and Tyla, who have been showing up globally and delivering the vibes.

Taking to X,  South Africans agreed with Riri.

Rihanna says Tyler ICU’s Mnike and Davido’s Unavailable (which features Musa Keys) were her fave songs to stream this year.
