Disgraced doctor, Nandipha Magudumana, has conditionally granted a production company exclusive rights to tell her daring story.
Magudumana was arrested in April, alongside her longtime lover Thabo Bester, for allegedly aiding the rapist and murderer escape from prison.
In a statement through her lawyers, Magudumana revealed that she is aware of the productions being shot about her life.
“I’d like to categorically state that if my voice or that of my legal team is not represented, there is likely no truth or credibility to that story.
“I have conditionally granted a black woman-owned production company from South Africa exclusive rights to my story and our lawyers are finalising the paperwork.”
The doctor also maintains that her incarceration is illegal.
Last month, the High Court in Bloemfontein dismissed her application for leave to appeal a ruling by the same court, which set aside her application to nullify her arrest in Tanzania.
She says the past few months since her alleged illegal arrest at the Bizzah Makhete Correctional Centre in Kroonstad have been a nightmare.
The medic also reminisced on the struggles women face in jail as the month of August draws to a close.
“My painful experience at the correctional facility including the plight of woman inmates and the violation of their human rights.”
She also uses her letter to lament the abuse she allegedly endured at the hands of some of South Africa’s most powerful men in government and business.
Magudumana tells her kids that she will see them soon.
“To my beautiful children, I miss you so much and mommy loves you. Mommy is fighting with everything she has to be with you again. I will see you soon.”
Magudumana is currently in police custody on charges of defeating the ends of justice as well as aiding and abetting a prisoner to escape from lawful custody.
At least 12 people have been arrested in connection with Bester’s brazen escape, including the doctor’s father and former G4S employees.
