The 75th Annual Emmy Awards have been postponed due to the ongoing strike by the Writers Guild of America and Screen Actors’ Guild.

The fancy awards ceremony, which was scheduled to take place on the 18th of September, has been postponed to January next year.

Productions for movies and TV shows have come to a grinding halt due to the strike.

The striking union actors have been prohibited from appearing at public events such as the Emmy’s, interviews and conventions until a deal is reached.

The screen actors and writers are trying to negotiate with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers over several issues.

These include the use of Artificial Intelligence in productions and a fair split of profits in the age of streaming.

This is the first postponement in more than two decades.

The last time Emmy’s were postponed was in response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001.

Emmy nominations were announced early this month, less than 48 hours before the screenwriters and actors strike took place.
