Gauteng e-gov launches a matric results digital platform

Gauteng learners will for the first time access their 2019 matric results through a specific developed matric result “App,” accessible from any smartphone device.

Gauteng is on a journey to digitise all its services to make it easier for citizens to access them. Travelling long distances to service locations will soon be a thing of the past. The matric result “App” is amongst 53 other applications available on the Gauteng website accessed at www.gauteng.gov.za .

MEC for Finance and e-Government, Ms Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko said digital transformation was disrupting every industry and it was time government stepped up to the challenge. “This is a sign that technology can create solutions for many of problems we are facing in government. We are developing various applications to resolve service delivery challenges. Through this App learners will save time, travelling costs and convenient to access their results.”

The App is developed through a partnership between the Department of e-Government and Gauteng Department of Education. Results will be accessible on the 8th of January 2020.

Here are easy steps to help learners access their results:

1. Get on to the Gauteng website: www.gauteng.gov.za
2. Go on the All Popular Icon,
3. Click on the Access Matric Results
4. Go to View the service then go to visit the site
5. Then punch in your ID or examination number
