The Proteas Women will tour Zimbabwe for the first time, with the two sides preparing to lock horns in their maiden T20I series.

Regular captain, Laura Wolvaardt, will lead a youthful South African squad, featuring three uncapped players.

Seamer, Caitlin Wyngaard, has earned her maiden call-up after impressing for the SA Emerging Women during the recent tour of Bangladesh.

The 21-year-old will be joined by former SA U19 Women star, Nthabiseng Nini and off-spinner Luyanda Nzuza, who also delivered standout performances for the Emerging side.

The uncapped trio will be joined by Faye Tunnicliffe, Anneke Bosch, Ayanda Hlubi, Eliz-Mari Marx, Seshnie Naidu, Nondumiso Shangase and Miané Smit, all of whom missed out on the recent ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England.

Bolstering the line-up further are wicket-keeper batters, Sinalo Jafta and Karabo Meso, as well as all-rounders, Kayla Reyneke and Annerie Dercksen.

The five-game T20I series will be played between 11-19 September at Queen’s Sports Club in Bulawayo.
