Conrad names Proteas squad for Windhoek tour

Lions spinner, Bjorn Fortuin, will captain the Proteas during their upcoming white-ball tour of Namibia.

The South African men’s cricket team will face hosts Namibia and Zimbabwe in a T20 tri-series, before taking on Namibia in an ODI series. All the matches will be played in Windhoek.

Titans all-rounder, Duan Jansen, the twin brother of Proteas star Marco Jansen, has earned his maiden national call-up after impressing domestically.

His Titans teammate Eathan Bosch is the other uncapped T20 player in the squad, while batters Connor Esterhuizen and Jordan Hermann, along with seamer Nqobani Mokoena, have received their first ODI call-ups.

The T20 tri-series gets underway on 28 August, with the ODI series staring on 9 September.

Proteas coach, Shukri Conrad, said the selectors opted for one squad for both series because they believe all departments are well covered.
