Kaizer Chiefs have announced the signing of goalkeeper, Renaldo Leaner, on a free transfer following his departure from Sekhukhune United.

The 28-year-old was a surprise departure from Sekhukhune after the club opted not to extend his contract.

The Cape Town-born shot-stopper joined Sekhukhune from Maritzburg United in 2023, and went on to make 45 appearances, with 15 clean sheets to his name. His impressive performances during the 2025/26 season also earner him his first Bafana Bafana call-up, where he made one senior appearance.

“Kaizer Chiefs have strengthened their goalkeeping department with the signing of renowned shot-stopper Renaldo Leaner,” the Amakhosi said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates have confirmed the departure of seven players ahead of the new season.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm movements around the team ahead of the start of the new season,” the Buccaneers said in a statement.

The Club can confirm that the following players have left the club to pursue opportunities elsewhere:

Thabiso Sesane (Siwelele FC)
Selaelo Rasebotja (Siwelele FC)
Siyabonga Ndlozi (Sekhukhune United)
Gomolemo Khoto (Sekhukhune United)
Sonwabo Khumalo (Midlands)
Blessing Ngiba (Midlands)
Seth Green (Durban City)

Pirates thanked the departing players for their contribution to the team.

“Each of these players has made a valuable contribution to the Club during their time at Orlando Pirates, both on and off the field, and their efforts have not gone unnoticed.”
