The Blitzboks won two from two of their matches at World Championship in Valladolid, Spain on Friday and will now face Australia in a decisive clash for pool honours on Saturday.
The South African Sevens eased past a physical Kenyan side to win 14-0, before setting up a showdown with the Wallaby Sevens side in their final pool match tomorrow at 13:23.
Australia beat Kenya in extra time via a golden try in their opener before edging Great Britain 26-19 in their second match. The Blitzboks also needed a golden try to beat Great Britain 17-12 in their opening fixture.
Head coach Philip Snyman says his side will need to be at their best.
“We will need to play as a team where every individual delivers his best effort. We have identified certain focus points and how to make them smaller by zooming into them. One of those is to focus on ourselves and what we need to do, and not the opponents as such.”
