Patriotic Alliance Deputy President, Kenny Kunene, has challenged Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema, to “bring it on”, saying he will not apologise for his remarks.

The two politicians are embroiled in a legal dispute after Malema filed a lawsuit over comments Kunene made on Podcast and Chill with MacG in February.

During the episode, Kunene also alleged that Malema lives at businessman Adriano Mazzotti’s property and hosts meetings there involving what he described as “cartel members” – claims that have not been substantiated.

Malema turned to the courts, alleging that Kunene defamed him by referring to him as a “boy”, arguing that the remark carries racial undertones.

In a strongly worded statement, Kunene accused Malema of abusing the courts, noting that this is not the first time the EFF leader has taken legal action against him.

“Malema further demands that I make a public apology and pay damages of R 1 million. I want to put it on record that I have no intention of apologising to Mr. Malema. I will defend myself in court and will present evidence in support of my position. I must indicate that this is the third time Malema has filed a lawsuit against me,” he said.

Kunene says Malema’s assertions that he is racist by calling him a ‘boy’ is laughable.

“When you look at Julius and his association with white people, is that of envy? He doesn’t hate them. When he is in front of EFF crowds, he pretends to hate white people when he actually envies them,” he added.

Kunene further claims that he has evidence to support other statements he has made about Malema about his alleged associations with Mazzoti and Eswatini’s King Mswati.

“I have two affidavits of a person who used to frequent there that saw him there that saw him drop the money there. I have an affidavit which is part of my answering affidavit of a person who worked there day and night, a person who counted the money on behalf of Mswazi, a person who mentioned a Louis Vuitton bag that brought money to Mswazi,” Kunene said.

The PA leader claims that Malema used to gift Mswati with expensive bottles of whiskey.
