The family of slain DJ and podcaster, Warras, has called on South Africans to honour his legacy by celebrating his life and the values he stood for.
The funeral service of the former Y DJ, Warrick Stock, was held in Rosebank on Tuesday, following his tragic shooting in Johannesburg last week.
Speaking at the service, DJ Warras’ sister, Nicole Stock-Mbatha, said her late brother belonged not only to his family, but to the nation.
Stock-Mbatha said that while his physical presence is gone, his influence will live on through the many lives he touched across South Africa and beyond.
She urged South Africans not to mourn in despair, but to celebrate his life, his values, and his unwavering commitment to uplifting his community.

Tributes also poured in from friends and colleagues who gathered to bid farewell to the popular DJ.
Close friend and colleague DJ PH said he is trying to remain strong as he comes to terms with the loss.
Speaking on the sidelines of the funeral, PH said the grief has been momentarily set aside as loved ones focus on honouring and celebrating DJ Warras’ life.
PH also revealed that he had been in contact with DJ Warras just hours before the fatal shooting.
DJ Warras, whose real name was Warrick Stock, was ambushed and shot multiple times by three unknown men near the Carlton Centre in Johannesburg last week.
Police have since arrested two suspects in connection with the 40-year-old DJ’s murder. They are expected to make their first court appearance on Wednesday.
