Some social media users have criticized television personality and businesswoman Kim Kardashian after she suggested that the 1969 Moon landing never happened.

In a recent episode of The Kardashians, the 44-year-old reality star questioned the historic mission that put the first man on the Moon, referencing former astronaut Buzz Aldrin in her remarks.

“I think it was fake. I’ve seen a few videos on Buzz Aldrin talking about how it didn’t happen. He says it all the time now, in interviews. Maybe we should find Buzz Aldrin,” Kardashian stated.

Her claims drew the attention of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), which dismissed what she said.

NASA acting administrator Sean Duffy quickly refuted Kardashian’s claims, asserting that they are false. “Yes, we’ve been to the Moon before… six times!” he tweeted.

For decades, scientists and experts have countered conspiracy theories suggesting that the Apollo 11 mission was a hoax.

Kardashian is not alone in her skepticism; podcaster Joe Rogan has also frequently voiced doubts about the Moon landing.

Social media users have shared a variety of opinions on the matter.

@astrojaket

This is so frustrating to me, we HAVE put people on the moon, the moon landings are not fake! I’m so saddened that someone with such a large platform would say this and then cite TikTok as her source, the amount of misinformation on TikTok about astrophysics is hard to combat #astrophysics #kimkardashian #moon #moonlanding #tiktok
