MK Party’s Deputy President, Dr John Hlophe, has launched a scathing attack against President Cyril Ramaphosa, saying he does not deserve to lead the country and should be removed from office.

Hlophe accused the President of working against South Africans.

The MK Party lodged a formal complaint with the Parliamentary Ethics Committee against both President Ramaphosa and Agriculture Minister John Steenhuisen, over remarks they made during their recent visit to the White House in the United States.

During a meeting with delegates in the Oval Office, Steenhuisen said the DA joined the Government of National Unity (GNU) to keep parties such as the EFF and MK Party out of government, claiming that they should not hold positions of power.

The MK Party says Ramaphosa failed to disassociate, clarify or correct Steenhuisen’s remarks.

Hlophe says Steenhuisen’s conduct borders on treason.

“They went overseas and spoke ill of this particular country. Obviously, they don’t like the MK, and they can go to hell, ” said Hlophe.

“Against Cyril Ramaphosa, we believe he does not deserve to be President, he has not delivered, he has let down millions of black people in this country. He is not working for South Africa, he is working against South Africa,” he added.

The MK Party’s Deputy President added that US President Donald Trump’s decision not to attend the upcoming G20 summit in Johannesburg shows that he does not take the country seriously.

Some South Africans have reacted to the MK Party’s move:
