Messages of support are pouring in for Orlando Pirates head coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou, and five staff members who were injured in a car accident on Sunday.

It is understood that the crash occurred on the R21 highway, as the team was returning from Gqeberha, following their 3โ€“0 victory over Chippa United, at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

According to the club, the group had stopped to assist victims of a collision between two vehicles when another car ploughed into them, leaving them seriously injured.

Orlando Pirates have confirmed that the injured individuals are receiving medical care, and the club is offering support to their families during this time.

“At this stage, our priority is the health and well-being of our colleagues. The Club has made arrangements to ensure that the affected individuals and their families receive all the necessary support during this difficult time.”

The team has requested privacy and respect during this time, stating that further updates will be communicated in due time.

The Buccaneers will return to action next week as they gear up for the highly anticipated MTN8 final against Stellenbosch FC.

The clash is set to take place at the Mbombela Stadium, Mpumalanga.

Fans, players, and clubs across the country have taken to social media to send prayers and well-wishes to the injured staff and their loved ones.
