Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach, Cedric Kaze, says Wednesday’s league clash against champions, Mamelodi Sundowns will serve as the perfect measure of the team’s progress.
Chiefs, head into the fixture at FNB Stadium with confidence, having secured three consecutive wins over Stellenbosch FC, Polokwane City and Richards Bay FC.
The Brazilians come into this fixture licking their wounds after Orlando Pirates dumped them out of the MTN8 cup competition in the semifinals, over the weekend.
“Sundowns are always a very good opponent to see the progress that we have made. We want to play these kinds of games to see where we are at,” said Kaze.
Chiefs will also be boosted by the return of head coach, Nasreddine Nabi, who had taken time off after his wife was involved in an accident.
“The approach is always the same. It’s true that the coach is here, but the selection doesn’t change just that now he is physically here. We talked every day when he was away,” the assistant coach said.
