Political analyst, Bongani Mahlangu, says Floyd Shivambu should not consider returning to the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).
The former deputy president of the EFF joined the MK Party in August last year, a move that surprised many and left his former comrades in the red berets unsettled.
Mahlangu weighed in on the debate regarding Shivambu’s next move as he finds himself in a precarious position within Jacob Zuma’s organisation.
This follows his recent demotion as the Secretary General of the party and Zuma’s scathing remarks during the organisation’s June 16 celebrations.
“If one of us goes astray, we don’t beg. Let me just tell you, we have already had seven Secretaries-General in the MK Party. We did not beg them, even if they considered themselves important. You are loved; we don’t care,” Zuma remarked.

Mahlangu advises Shivambu to focus on contributing positively to other sectors of society as he contemplates his future.
He believes that the MK Party’s relevance among the black middle class and rural communities will diminish following Shivambu’s demotion – less than a year after he was appointed as the MKP SG.
