Stone’s daughter, Ladi Diamond, confirmed her mother’s passing on Facebook, three months after the hip-hop pioneer, RnB and Neo-Soul catalyst’s 63rd birthday.
The “No More Rain(in this cloud)” hit maker, which earned a Soul Train Lady of Soul Award in 2000, leaves behind her daughter, the 41-year-old Diamond, whom she shared with ex-husband, Rodney Stone; her 27-year-old son, Michael Archer II, whom she shares with neo-soul musician, D’Angelo; and two grand children.
Stone is a three-time Grammy nominee. She is also an Edison Award winner.
The late 63-year-old’s undeniable vocals garnered her a chance at fame initially in 1970 when she became a member of a hip hop trio, The Sequence, where she was the lead singer and rapper.
Three weeks ago, Stone took to Instagram alerting her fans on projects she meant to release soon.
She also announced her Alabama performance, which proved to her last.
In December, she had also put Universal Music on blast, accusing them of having taken some of her royalties and failed to register some of her songs.
actually very sad bc angie stone just uploaded this video not too long ago calling out universal music group for basically mishandling all of her royalties. 💔 pic.twitter.com/un48w4cza8

Besides her music career, Stone was also an entrepreneur, selling self branded hot sauce and coffee, amongst other things.
Fans continue to flock to social media, paying tribute to the late star.
I literally played #AngieStone’s Essentials on Apple Music this morning out of the blue. Only to find out right now that she’s dead. RIP Queen! What a voice. The world didn’t give her enough flowers.
