One of the victims, who appears on the Zanzou nightclub videos, says he doesn’t remember what happened on that fateful night and he won’t be pressing any charges.

A video of the young man, looking unresponsive, on the floor while a bouncer placed his boot over his mouth has sparked further outrage.

After the video circulated, the young boy came out to confirm that he was still alive and that it was him in the video.

He confirms that he worked as a promoter at the nightclub.

“I actually have the belt that I was wearing that day, I know that’s me, please, I do not want to be associated with this, please.”

The nightclub made headlines after videos made the rounds on social media, showing the torture of young men by bouncers.

A 41-year-old Congolese national has been arrested in Yeoville, Johannesburg, for the incident.

JMPD officers, who were patrolling the area yesterday, apprehended him when they noticed that he resembled one of the bouncers the police were hunting down.

He faces charges of compelled rape, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and crimen injuria.

Three victims of the assault have since opened criminal cases against the eight alleged perpetrators.

Authorities say the suspect is linked to two of the cases that have been opened and will appear in court on Monday.
