Patriotic Alliance (PA) leader, Gayton McKenzie, has accused Democratic Alliance’s (DA) Deputy Federal Chairperson, JP Smith, of enabling the rife gangsterism that’s been ravaging through Cape Town for years.
During a recent PA event, Gayton insinuated that the Mayoral Committee Member (MMC) for Safety and Security is among DA members who are giving business to gangsters, oiling their bloody networks, which continue to commit heinous crimes in the Western Cape without consequence.
He claims prisoners are now speaking out about Smith’s alleged involvement with the gangs.
The Cape Town City Councilor has dismissed the claims, which come amid a probe into his alleged involvement in tender fraud.
The DA politician insists that he is a victim of a smear campaign aimed at discrediting his reputation.
The DA in Cape Town has meanwhile been receiving flak for not axing Smith as it did with former Human Settlements MMC, Malusi Booi, who is on trial for a tender fraud case linked to alleged 28s gang boss, Ralph Stanfield.
