The Eastern Cape Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) MEC, Zolile Williams, says he views the video in a serious light and will leave no stone unturned until justice is served for the two elderly women.
The MEC has also thanked the police for their swift action in arresting the 29-year-old.
The Xhosa Kingdom’s Nqadu Great Place has also condemned chief Njuqwana’s behaviour, saying it undermined the AmaXhosa nation.
“Such brutality is not only unethical, but also undermines the very essence of royalty,” says royal house’s spokesperson, chief Bangisizwe Mtoto.
