Social media users are not sympathetic to rapper Dajua Blanding, also known as Dank Demoss, after her exchange with a Lyft driver, who refused to transport her because of her weight.
The e-hailing driver said she wouldn’t fit in his car.
Blanding has said she was trying to get to a Detroit Lions watch party at the time of the incident, that’s captured in a video that’s gone viral.
She says she was left embarrassed because she has ridden in smaller vehicles, before, without any issues.
In the video below, the driver can also be heard telling her that his tyres would not be able to handle the weight.
Blanding has now decided to sue the e-hailing service for discrimination.
She says her feelings were hurt even though the driver offered to refund her.
According to her attorneys, the refusal is illegal as weight is a protected characteristic in Michigan.
In a statement, Lyft said it “unequivocally condemns” all forms of discrimination.
“We believe in a community where everyone is treated with equal respect and mutual kindness. Our community guidelines and terms of service explicitly prohibit harassment or discrimination,” read the statement.
She isn’t an advocate. She’s just obese asf and thinks that she can make that everyone’s issue. She should’ve ordered a 3xl whip. She can barely fit in a damn Escalade 😂😂😂 let alone a damn Camry. I have a Corolla. She WOULD NOT FIT

If Dajua Blanding (36) doesn’t watch herself she may not be around to enjoy any court winnings…💀

How many airlines would let rapper Dajua Blanding aka Dank Demoss pay for ONE seat and fly? Even elevators and certain pieces of furniture and equipment have weight restrictions. Why should the @lyft driver be forced to chance damaging his work-vehicle to appease her feelings? pic.twitter.com/h6WeJzsXKU

You are so gross- not because you are the size of a whale, but because you expect the world to cater to you. Put down the Twinkes and talk a walk instead of fighting people defending your utter gluttony.

After this Lyft accident with dank demoss all taxi companies should pose a weight limit per type of car. If you’re over 250 pounds you MUST get Uber XL and above

People who are familiar with vehicles and familiar with wear and tear know damn well that Lyft driver was not being fat phobic refusing Dank Demoss to get into his vehicle. Be fr! His car could’ve suffered serious damage from her getting into HIS CAR that Lyft was NOT going to…

Some people have however thrown their weight behind her.
Dank Demoss should absolutely sue. She should’ve been provided an adequate alternative. This isn’t about her being overweight, it’s about lack of access to services.
