Some social media users have accused model and actress, Pear Thusi, of being a liar after she allegedly failed to keep her promise to assist a desperate young mother.
Thusi had, on X, pledged to assist the woman create a back a buddy account to raise funds for her two sons’ school fees last year in July.
She, however, allegedly went MIA on the young mother, who opened up about her experience after another mother shared a similar story on the social media platform about not being able to pay her child’s school fees as the 2025 academic year began.

When Matroos responded to the post, many started asking her what happen to Thusi helping her.
She opened a can of worms as she also revealed that the last time the DJ had contacted her was in September.
Mntasekhaya the last time Pearl responded to my DM was on September 19 with “Didn’t the money come in?” . Others ke dololo response I spoke alone in people’s DMs for weeks!

The mother of two had initially posted on X that she had to tell her boys that they would have to drop out of school because she was unable to paying the fees.
Thusi then assured her that she would offer a helping hand and even asked DJ Zinhle to split the bill.
Send the school name, account details… so we can verify.
I’ll make a contribution. @DJZinhle let’s split it babe? https://t.co/srgtS4Zwrf— Pearl Thusi (@PearlThusi) September 5, 2024
The move by Thusi, at the time, was widely welcomed with many praising her for stepping in to help a stranger online, while others were peeved by her including DJ Zinhle in her goodwill gesture.
That’s kind of you, but I don’t think it’s fair to include Zinhle, especially asking her on X (where she’s people’s least favorite person)

After sharing her ordeal, some concerned people reached out to her via direct messaging (DM) and asked her to share her banking details so they can assist her.
We have received R1000 in the past hour. As I mentioned in a previous tweet, we have as well received R3000 apha kuJan but I’m still waiting on the principal to confirm this on Friday.

Thusi on the other hand is receiving flak for her alleged failure to pay true to her promise.
It’s one thing failing to fulfil a promise to help someone pay their child’s fees after publicly offering to help, BUT to string them along, disregard the urgency & pretend you’ve paid just to silence them?
Worse, this person didn’t even ask for your help..@PearlThusi wow! https://t.co/NHe46bPzD3
