Smash Afrika encourages Yires to reach for the stars

TV and radio personality, Afrika Mdutyulwa aka Smash Afrika, has advised Yires wishing to enter the entertainment space to always remain true to themselves and be easy to work with.

The entertainer began his presenting career as a Y DJ in 2012.

Mdutyulwa, who has worked on various shows at the station for five years, was recently named as the new host for Big Brother Mzansi.

The 36-year-old will take over from actor, and heart-throb Lawrence Maleka, to host season 5 of the popular show from January next year, on Mzansi Magic.

Mdutyulwa says his years at the station contributed immensely to this moment.

He has also hosted popular music shows like, Massive Music on Mzansi Magic and Channel O.

The Bloemfontein-born media personality says while he might not have been on TV screens in recent months, he is looking forward to hosting the hit show every Sunday and bring in the heat.

Last year, Mcjunior Zondi from Durban, won season 4 of Big Brother Mzansi and walked away with R2 million in prize money.
