Chef Xolani’s apology misses the mark

Top chef Xolani Sabelo’s apology for publicly embarrassing his fiancée, Izingane zeS’thembu reality star, Vuyokazi Nciweni, has not been well received on social media, with some saying the move is a little too late.

Sabelo went live on TickTock, days after X was abuzz over voice notes of him talking badly about his fiancée to the mother of his child were leaked to social media.

The couple was engaged a few months ago, not long after Nciweni left her relationship with her polygomous baby daddy.

In the voice notes under scrutiny, Xolani can be heard telling his ex that he was forced by Nciweni to pay her lobola and that that caused him intensive stress, which led to his fainting just before the negotiations took place.

He is also laughing and poking fun at his fiancée as he relates the story, in a move that has raised questions about rushing into a serious relationship soon after a breakup.

After hearing the voice note, the reality TV star took to Instagram saying his words have caused her to see him in another light.

In response to her reaction and social media criticism, Sabelo posted a video in which he said he opened up to his ex in a moment of vulnerability.

Social media users have been hard on him, saying he wouldn’t have apologised if the videos hadn’t gone public.

Some, however, have also criticised Vuyokazi for hastily jumping into a relationship with the chef not long after leaving the father of her two sons, Mpumelelo Mseleku.

This was, however, not the first time the young chef publicly embarrassed the reality TV star.

Last month, the love birds trended after screenshots of messages he had sent to content creator Sbusie Phoswa went viral.
