British supermodel, Naomi Campbell, has rejected claims that she misused charity funds to sponsor her lavish lifestyle.

Campbell has been banned from being a charity trustee, alongside two other trustees, for the next five years after a charity commission inquiry found that only a small fraction of the millions raised in Campbell’s poverty relief charity, Fashion for Relief, was spent on charity.

The inquiry says only 8.5% of the charity’s overall expenditure went on charitable grants in a six-year period from 2016.

It is alleged that the model spent some of the money on luxury hotels, spa treatments, cigarettes, and security.

Fashion for Relief was founded by Campbell in 2005 and raised funds for various environmental and humanitarian causes. It closed in March following a probe by UK watchdog, the Charity Commission for England and Wales.

In response to the damning findings, Campbell expressed concern.

“I was not in control of my charity, I put the control in the hands of a legal employer. We are investigating to find out what and how, and everything I do and every penny I ever raised goes to charity,” she explained.

Many have taken to social media, slamming the supermodel’s alleged conduct.
