Tributes continue to pour in for award-winning actor and voiceover artist, James Earl Jones.
The 93- year-old passed away at his home on Monday after suffering from diabetes for many years.
The two-time Emmy and Grammy award winning actor is known for his majestic voice that gave life to characters such as Mufasa in the ‘Lion King’ and Darth Vader in ‘Star Wars’.
In one of the iconic moments on Lion King, Mufasa (voiced by Jones) speaks to his son Simba to ‘remember who he is’.
The pioneer with his deep and commanding voice also starred in films such as ‘Coming to America 1 and 2′, where he played King of Zamunda, King Jaffe Joffer, father to Akeem the Prince, played by Eddie Murphy.
He has also appeared in ‘Will and Grace’, ‘The Big Bang Theory’ just to name a few.
In ‘Star Wars’, Darth Vader’s duel with Luke Skywalker, played by Mark Hamill, in 1980’s ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ became a dramatic high point in the movie series – also made iconic by Jones’ delivery of one of the most famous lines in movie history: “No, I am your father!”
Fans of the films, which broke all box office records, have posted their favourite scene from ‘Star Wars’ with the popular hashtag – May the Force be with you.
Fans across the globe have flooded social media with a special tribute to the esteemed American actor.
‘Star Wars’ creator, George Lucas, described Jones as having the most unique voice both in art and spirit.
Mark Hamill, who played Vader’s son Luke Skywalker, posted “RIP Dad” on X with a broken heart emoji.
Lucasfilm president, Kathleen Kennedy, says James Earl Jones is one of the most versatile and talented actors of our time, with an iconic body of work across film, stage and television.
Fans have also been expressing their gratitude towards Jones for the impact he had in the movie industry.
