Controversial Pastor, Paseka “Mboro” Motsoeneng, has expressed dissatisfaction with the justice system, claiming unfair treatment due to his fame.
Mboro’s second bail application was heard in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court today, despite him being denied bail by the same court last month.
The panga-wielding pastor’s defense team presented new facts in the case, where he, his son, and bodyguard face kidnapping and trespassing charges for forcibly removing his grandchildren from their primary school with pangas.
Mboro is embroiled in a heated custody battle with his son’s in-laws, accusing them of burning down his cars and church to gain custody of the children.
In a desperate appeal, the self-proclaimed prophet told the court that he’s fighting for his life in police custody.
His supporters, who arrived in buses, praised him for defending family values.
Despite their dwindling numbers, the congregants maintained their high-spirited calls for Mboro’s release on bail.
However, Mboro’s decision to speak out publicly has seemingly caused tension with his legal team.
During the bail application, his defense counsel expressed concerns that his media engagements were jeopardising their case.
The hearing has been postponed to Monday for the prosecution to prepare its case.
