Netball South Africa President, Cecilia Molokwane, has challenged President Cyril Ramaphosa and Gauteng Premier, Panyaza Lesufi, to keep their promise to her and the country.
During last year’s Netball World Cup, which was held in Cape Town, Ramaphosa promised to build an exclusive netball arena that will help develop the sport.

However, according to Molokwane, no action has since been taken to make the dream a reality.
She says there’s so far been no response to her requests for a meeting with the President and Lesufi.

Molokwane was speaking in Sandton, where Khanyisa Chawane was also announced as the new captain of the SPAR Proteas.
Chawane takes over the leadership role from Bongi Msomi, who has led the team with distinction since 2016.
“I am truly humbled and honoured to be appointed captain of the SPAR Proteas. It’s a privilege to lead such a talented and dedicated group of players. I’m excited to take on this new challenge and work with the coaches and teammates to achieve our goals. I’m committed to leading by example, with passion, integrity, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. I’m looking forward to this new chapter and making South Africa proud,β Chawane told journalists.
