South African football legend, Dr Jomo Sono, says Pitso Mosimane should not consider taking up a job in South Africa.
Mosimane has been out of a job for since May after he parted ways with UAE club, Abha, after failing to promote the club.
Speaking at Mosimane’s conferring with an honourary doctorate at the University of Johannesburg on Wednesday, Sono advised ‘Jingles’ to not settle for a job in the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

“He shouldn’t stay out of the game for too long. He should go beyond; he should not be coaching here,” said Sono.
Mosimane has already won everything there is to win in the country during his time at SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns.
“If he coaches here, he’ll be going a step down. I think he should be looking for a job outside the country,” insists Dr Sono.
On the doctorate, Sono was beaming with pride as he and the now late Stanley ‘Screamer’ Tshabalala discovered Mosimane as a player and gave him his professional debut at Jomo Cosmos.
“I feel very proud, to be honest, like any father when your child graduates. I come a long way with him, and people think, because I spotted and groomed him, and he played for Cosmos, we never had quarrels or anything, we did have,” said the football legend.
