The music industry has been hit with yet another blow, following the passing of Sesotho hip-hop artist, Bokang Moleli, popularly known as Malome Vector.
The young Lesotho-born artist passed away in a horrific crash on the N1 near the Koppies off-ramp yesterday.
Authorities say two other people died in the crash, while two more were transferred to hospital.
The hip-hop artist was allegedly travelling from Gauteng towards Bloemfontein, on his way to shoot a music video in his home country of Lesotho.
The ‘Stimela’ hitmaker’s leaves behind his wife, daughter, parents and siblings.
Award-winning artist from Blaq Diamond, Siphelele Dunywa, popularly known as ‘Danya Devs’ says the late Malome Vector took Sesotho music to new heights.
Speaking to YNews, Devs says the late 32 always prided himself in where he came from.
Music lovers and industry colleagues have been sending tributes on social media following the news of his passing.
SAMRO is saddened by the passing of composer, singer and rapper, Bokang ‘Malome Vector’ Moleli.
Moleli gained prominence in the South African music industry following his relocation to Johannesburg in 2019 and subsequent signing with Ambitiouz Entertainment.

Molome Vector was a 2021 MTV Africa (MAMA) award nominee in the Listener’s Choice category for the hit song ‘Price to Play’, which he made with Miss Pru and Blaq Diamond.
