Sport Minister, Gayton McKenzie, is optimistic that Team South Africa will bring back plenty of gold medals from the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The first batch of Team SA athletes left the country yesterday, with others scheduled to leave over the next couple of days.
At the 2020 Olympics, Team SA only managed to bring back three medals, with the only gold coming from superstar swimmer, Tatjana Schoenmacher.
This time McKenzie believes that the medal haul will be much bigger.
“Gold, gold, golide! I expect gold, lots of gold, we’ll not even where to hide the gold that is coming. The olympic team is motivated and I’m going there (Paris) to motivate them further so that they can bring medals and we’ll take it from there,” said the Minister.
