Orlando Pirates have announced the signing of Delvi Miguel Vieira. The 23-year-old joins the Buccaneers on a three-year deal after passing a medical and finalising personal terms.

Delvi, who is better known as Gilberto, joins the Sea Robbers after two seasons with Angolan Girabola champions, Petro du Luanda.

The enterprising forward comes off an impressive season where he starred at the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast earlier in the year, helping guide Angola to the quarterfinals of the competition.

Gilberto is due to fly back to Angola today to finalise the necessary paperwork so that he can join the squad for its outbound preseason tour to Spain from July 8.

Meanwhile, Cape Town City have unveiled former Pirates midfielder Fortune Makaringe as the latest additional to their squad for the new DStv Premiership campaign.

He joins on a free transfer after having come to the end of his contract at Orlando Pirates last month and is one of at least seven new players that have been promised by chairman John Comitis.

This will be the 10th successive season in top flight football for midfielder Makaringe, who turned 31 in May.

City have sold Brice Ambina to Valerenga in Norway and released Jo Paciencia, Thabiso Kutumela, Khanya Leshabela, Relebogile Mokhuoane and back-up goalkeeper, Bongani Mpandle.
