Talk show host, JJ Tabane, says the country is headed for stormy waters, as the 7th administration is set to be sworn-in tomorrow.

Speaking on his show, Power to Truth, Tabane slammed political leaders – saying they don’t have a backbone after they went back on their decisions about coalitions.

He made reference to the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) leader, Velenkosini Hlabisa, who had previously said his party wouldn’t work with the ANC, but yesterday announced that it would be part of the Government of National Unity (GNU).

Hlabisa also announced that they will also work with the DA, ANC and NFP in KZN in a bid to govern the KwaZulu-Natal province.

Tabane says these political parties are full of lies.

He bemoaned the fact that black parties couldn’t come to an understanding to work together, saying this shows how disjointed the country is.

Tabane says they are playing to notions that a white person is needed to be in charge for things to get better.

A kind of thinking, the political commentator and veteran journalist, says should be done away.

Professor Tabane even went on to quote the founder of the Black Conscious Movement, Steve Biko, that “Black man, you are on your own,” to highlight the dangers of the African National Congress (ANC) partnering with the Democratic Alliance (DA).

Reiterating the concerns of many other South Africans, Tabane says the ANC working with the DA is not good for the country because the official opposition is against transformation.

Tabane says while he is for a non-racial, inclusive society – black parties would be better off working together and take the country to the next level.

On the other hand, Patriotic Alliance leader, Gayton McKenzie, called for South Africans to cut the ANC some slack, over the partners it might go into the Government of National Unity with.

Amid backlash over the ANC’s decision to work with the DA, McKenzie says the party had actually approached black parties first, but some wouldn’t budge.

Speaking to Tabane on his show, McKenzie said the MK Party and the EFF, for instance, have been ridiculous with their demands.

He also slammed the arrogance and egos, of some politicians who have been involved in negotiation talks during the race to form the country’s 7th administration.
