Lorch’s off the pitch shenanigans set tongues wagging

Mamelodi Sundowns’ record-breaking manager, Rhulani Mokwena, has revealed the emotional aftermath of January signing Thembinkosi Lorch’s controversial Instagram Live video, sharing details of a tearful phone call from the star midfielder.

Lorch’s DStv Premiership title celebrations took a controversial turn after a social media livestream showed the 30-year-old partying with two female friends, seemingly under the influence of alcohol.

It was an incredible season for Sundowns as they won a seventh straight league title and were just one unbeaten result from an unprecedented invincible season, with Lorch playing a key role in the run-in.

Yesterday, the footage sparked a heated debate among domestic football fans, with many criticising his behaviour.

Mokwena shed some light on the situation with Andile Ncube on his Sports Night show.

The only thing that would render Thembinkosi Lorch’s celebration unrporfessinal and irresponsible as many say, is if he did not pitch up for training or got there drunk.
