Sex workers outside the Gauteng High Court sitting at the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court say they’re shocked to learn that the man who confessed to have killed their colleagues, Sifiso Mkhwanazi, was apparently acting alone.
The women spoke with YNews on the sidelines of Mkhwanazi’s murder trial.
The sex workers, who worked alongside one of Mkhwanazi’s alleged victims, Joyce Moyo, say they believe her killer had help.
The 21-year-old made headlines in 2022 after the decomposed bodies of six sex workers were discovered at his father’s panel beating workshop in Johannesburg.
Asked by YNews whether the accused or his father were regular clients in the area, the women YNews spoke with – would not comment.
Meanwhile, a friend of Moyo’s has linked a van discovered at Mkhwanazi’s family panel beating business to the vehicle her colleague and friend was last seen in.
The sex worker, known simply as Miss A, detailed seeing Moyo hop into the van with an unknown man just days before her disappearance in 2022.
This as more sex-workers are expected to take to the witness stand today when the murder trial resumes.
